Certification Policies
CompTIA Certification Policies
CompTIA’s retake policy has been established to outline conditions under which a candidate may retake a CompTIA certification test.
CompTIA addresses the following in the scope of this document:
- Retake Policy
- In the event that a candidate fails a CompTIA certification test
- In the event that a candidate passes a CompTIA certification test
- In the event that it is determined that a candidate violated CompTIA's Candidate Conduct Policy
- Remedies for Violating the Retake Policy
- CompTIA has changed the test objectives for such test. CompTIA beta Certification examinations may only be taken one (1) time by each candidate.
IN THE EVENT THAT A CANDIDATE FAILS A COMPTIA CERTIFICATION TEST - RETAKE POLICY: In the event that a candidate fails his or her first (1st) attempt to pass any CompTIA certification test, CompTIA does not require
any waiting period between the first (1st) and second (2nd) attempt to pass that same CompTIA certification test. However, before any candidate's third (3rd) attempt or any subsequent attempt to pass any CompTIA
certification test, such candidate shall be required to wait for a period of at least thirty (30) calendar days from the date of such candidate's last attempt to pass such test.
IN THE EVENT THAT A CANDIDATE PASSES A COMPTIA CERTIFICATION TEST - RETAKE POLICY: In the event that any candidate passes any CompTIA certification test, such candidate shall be required to wait for a period of
twelve (12) calendar months before retaking the same CompTIA certification test, unless CompTIA has changed the test objectives for such test.
IN THE EVENT THAT IT IS DETERMINED THAT A CANDIDATE HAS VIOLATED COMPTIA'S CANDIDATE CONDUCT POLICY - RETAKE POLICY: If it is determined that a candidate has violated CompTIA's Candidate Conduct Policy, such
candidate may not be eligible to register and/or schedule any CompTIA certification test for a minimum period of twelve (12) calendar months from the date of such determination, if determined necessary or
appropriate by CompTIA based upon the seriousness of the incident or violation.
Remedies for Violating the Retake Policy
Any candidate determined by CompTIA to have violated CompTIA's Retake Policy shall, if determined necessary or appropriate by CompTIA based upon the seriousness of the incident or violation:
- (a) be denied CompTIA certification for the applicable CompTIA certification test for a minimum period of twelve (12) calendar months from the date of such determination;
- (b) have the CompTIA certification for the applicable CompTIA certification test revoked, if such certification was previously granted by CompTIA;
- (c) have all other CompTIA certifications previously granted to such candidate revoked;
- (d) not be eligible to receive any CompTIA certification for a minimum period of twelve (12) calendar months from the date of such determination; and/or
- (e) be subject to any and all other appropriate action, including legal remedies, that CompTIA deems necessary or appropriate to enforce CompTIA's Retake Policy.

Microsoft Certification Policies
If you do not pass an exam the first time, you may retake it at any time. If you do not achieve a passing score a second time, you must wait at least 14 days to retake the exam a third time. A 14-day waiting period
will be imposed for all subsequent exam retakes. If you have passed an exam, you cannot take it again. Beta exams may be taken only once.
Consequences of Violating Testing Center Rules
Keeping exams as secure as possible helps maintain the value of Microsoft certification and ensures that only qualified information technology (IT) professionals are identified as Microsoft Certified Professionals
(MCPs).
If a candidate is caught violating testing rules, which are explained to all exam candidates, the candidate is permanently ineligible for any Microsoft certification. Testing center proctors are authorized to take
immediate, appropriate measures against candidates who are caught violating testing rules. (Examples of violations include using notes brought into the testing center, copying test questions, and looking at the
monitors of other test takers.)
This policy is enforced to ensure the integrity of certification exams and the MCP program. You can help protect your investment in your certification by making fellow candidates aware of testing rules.
Enforcement of non-disclosure agreement.
Microsoft requires all certification candidates to accept the terms of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before taking certification exams. One way Microsoft enforces the NDA is to closely monitor Web sites suspected
of publishing exam material and regularly perform searches for MCP exam content. They also follow up on leads provided by MCPs and candidates. As a result of these investigations, owners of seven Web sites were
found to be in violation of the non-disclosure agreement by publishing questions from certification exams. The site owners—all certified individuals in Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, and Texas—were immediately
decertified and are now permanently ineligible for any Microsoft certification. In addition, as of September 2000, Microsoft has decertified a dozen individuals who had posted information in violation of the NDA on
various Web sites. Microsoft can take whatever legal action is justified by the facts of a case and reserves the right to revoke any certifications at its sole discretion.

Citrix Certified Administrator Decertification
Citrix is committed to maintaining the value and relevance of the Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) and all its certifications as current and valuable IT certifications. To fulfill this commitment, the
requirements of the Citrix certifications are continually reviewed as new Citrix technologies are developed and released. When appropriate, Citrix retires certain exams. Having current credentials provides assurance
that CCAs are proficient on current products to both their employers and customers. CCAs are encouraged to keep their certifications as current as possible.
When necessary, Citrix will announce exam retirements twice a year (in December and June) and will provide timelines for updating certifications in those announcements. Exams that are retired will no longer be

Arrive at the testing center at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the testing center personnel may choose not to seat you if doing so disrupts the other
exams in progress.
Sign the test log and be prepared to show at least two forms of identification. One must be a government - issued photo identification. Both forms of identification must contain your signature.
The test center administrator will give you a brief orientation and will escort you to a computer terminal where you will take the exam. A computerized tutorial on system and equipment use, designed to familiarize
you with the exam procedure, will be provided to you by testing center personnel prior to the beginning of the exam. The orientation includes directions for reviewing questions, entering responses, and how to access
the exhibits that you will need to answer some test questions. Please note that testing center personnel are not subject matter experts and cannot counsel you on test content. Also note that the computer is
programmed to end the exam after the allotted time expires. Questions left unanswered will be marked as incorrect.
Please Note: You are not permitted to bring papers, books, bags, computers, personal organizers, or calculators into the testing room. Scratch paper will be provided by testing center personnel for use while
testing. All scratch paper is collected and destroyed by testing center personnel at the end of the exam.
Obtaining Your Testing Results
Exam score reports are available at the testing center upon completing the test. If you are participating in a beta exam, your score reports will be sent by mail once your test has been reviewed and scored.
All exam results are immediately forwarded by Prometric to the Oracle Certification Program management. Please keep a copy of your test results for your records.
Retaking a Test
Candidates must wait at least 30 days before retaking a failed exam. There are no exceptions to this policy. Oracle encourages you to make use of the diagnostic feedback supplied with the score report to review the
areas that require further preparation or study.
