CCIE ® Certification Training Cisco ® Certified Internetwork Engineer
{The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) program sets the professional benchmark for internetworking expertise. CCIEs are recognized for advanced internetworking knowledge. By attaining CCIE status, an
individual identifies him or herself with a level of excellence in our rapidly expanding technical arena. To be sure that a CCIE credential is a dynamic badge of distinction, the CCIE program introduced a
recertification requirement. The recertification requirement ensures that the CCIE credential remains a meaningful measure of individual technical know-how for as long a CCIE is active in the industry. The CCIE
Routing and Switching exam covers IP and IP routing, non-IP desktop protocols such as IPX, and bridge and switch related technologies.
A CCIE Routing and Switching certified individual can perform the following tasks:
- Install, configure, and operate networks in highly complex environments with specific protocols.
- Understand and apply network protocols for routers, switches, bridges and security
- Implement Cisco hardware and networking requirements for large-scale diverse networks
- Handle difficult design and troubleshooting issues
- Develop and implement innovative network designs
Typical Positions
- Senior network administrator
- Senior deployment engineer
Self-study
Self-study for the CCIE exam is probably the single most important factor determining success or failure. The CCIE lab exam is a practical exam - your self-study must be practical as well. Passing the CCIE lab exam
requires knowledge of the Cisco command set and a facility with using the commands that only comes with repeated practice in different scenarios.
