Certified Lotus Notes Specialist and Professional Certification Training CLS CLP
Lotus Certification programs certify individuals who can demonstrate a level of skill and expertise with the Lotus technology.
Certification provides individuals with a means to benchmark their technical knowledge and achieve industry recognition, which results in increased business value to both the individual and their organization. As a
member of the highly regarded Lotus certified community, individuals enjoy benefits commensurate to their certification level.
There are four certification programs offered by Lotus; each has different requirements:
Certified Lotus Specialist (CLS)
If you're new to Lotus Certification, start with the Certified Lotus Specialist (CLS) program, which recognizes a basic level of technical expertise. To earn the CLS title you'll be required to pass one
performance-based exam that measures expertise for a particular product, including Domino, Notes, cc:Mail, and SmartSuite. Several exam options are available to attain the CLS title

Certified Lotus Professional
Lotus' Certified Lotus Professional (CLP) program requires individuals to pass a series of exams to demonstrate expertise of a job function and represents a high level of technical knowledge. CLPs certified in
application development demonstrate a broad knowledge of Notes and Domino and earn recognition for building multiple database applications that automate workflow between several departments.

Certified Lotus Instructor
The Certified Lotus Instructor (CLI) program is directed toward technical training professionals who through experience and expertise have demonstrated their ability to present Lotus' authorized courseware in a
professional and understandable format.

Certified Lotus End-user Instructor
The Certified Lotus End-user Instructor (CLEI) program is available for training professionals who have experience presenting Lotus' authorized end-user courseware. In order to achieve CLEI status, you must first
successfully pass CLS certification. Certification as a Certified Lotus End-user Instructor (CLEI) is aimed at individuals responsible for instruction of Lotus Education end-user training courses at sites authorized
by Lotus Education. A CLEI is a training professional who through experience and expertise has demonstrated the ability to facilitate learning to meet task-based objectives. A CLEI also has demonstrated mastery of
Lotus courseware content. The CLEI program is explicitly for professional trainers who are employed by Lotus Authorized Education Centers (LAECs), LAECs in process, Lotus Education Academic Partners (LEAPS), or
individuals anticipating becoming an Independent CLEI

Retirement of R4 and R4.5 Exams Set for September 30, 2002
With the upcoming release of Domino Release 6, it is time to retire the R4 and R4.5 exams. Effective September 30, 2002, the exams listed below will no longer be available. If you have yet to pass your web elective
as part of the R5 update program, be sure to do so before September 30.
