Audience
Cisco ® IP Telephony (CIPT1) is designed for students with a solid background in Cisco ® networking. The course is
ideal for technicians who use or are training to use the Cisco ® CallManager product. It is also extremely beneficial for
students that build Cisco ® voice architectures. This course will prepare students for future use with additional data,
voice, and video services through Cisco ® CallManager's open telephony application programming interface (TAPI).
Cisco ® IP Telephony (CIPT) is also recommended for any students attempting Cisco ® IP Telephony certifications.
Prerequisites
Students that want to enroll in this course should possess:
A basic working knowledge of a computer and experience installing software onto a PC
A basic understanding of network connectivity
Windows 2000 Server experience
A fundamental knowledge of Cisco ® networking and TCP/IP
Knowledge of the configuration of dial-peers on H.323 voice-enabled routers
Knowledge of basic route plan construction, Cisco ® IOS and Catalyst OS command line basics, IOS configuration
A basic knowledge of Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI) and Java Telephony Application Programming Interface (JTAPI)
Successful completion of the following courses (or equivalent experience) is strongly recommended: Microsoft for Cisco ® Voice (MSCV) Express
