Career Certifications
Cisco ® offers three levels of general certification—from Associate to Professional to Expert, representing the highest level of achievement—available in various paths (or tracks) and designations. A
variety of Cisco Qualified Specialist focused certifications are also available to show knowledge in specific technologies, solutions or job roles.
Professional - This second level of certification shows expertise with networking foundations
- CCDP - addresses mainly network services and solutions
- CCIP ® - covers networking technologies in the service provider arena including IP routing, IP QoS, BGP, and MPLS.
- CCNP - emphasizes topics such as security, converged networks, quality of service
(QoS), virtual private networks (VPN) and broadband technologies.
- CCSP - designing and implementing Cisco secure networks
Associate - This is the first step or foundation level of networking certifications
- CCDA - design routed and switched network infrastructures involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services for businesses and organizations
- CCNA - install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small
networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.
Specialist - If you have earned an associate level certification (or higher) you are
eligible to become qualified in these focused areas, customized to meet specific market needs
