Cisco GWGK Training Implementing Cisco Voice Gateway and Gatekeeping CCVP
The Gateway Gatekeeper GWGK Certification exam assesses the knowledge of the
Systems Engineer on the implementation of Cisco gateways and gatekeepers to integrate a VoIP network to both PSTN and TDM equipment. GWGK training also
includes implementing dial plans and advanced gateway features such as SRST and DSP resources. Learn how to implement gatekeepers and directory gatekeepers to
provide hierarchical dial plan resolution and call admission control.
Training Course Overview
This is an advanced course on implementing Cisco Voice Gateways and Gatekeepers in Enterprise or Service Provider
environments. Passing the associated CCVP GWGK Certification Exam is a requirement for the Cisco Certified Voice
Professional CCVP Certification. The goal of the course is to provide students with information and practice activities to
prepare them to install configure monitor and troubleshoot Cisco voice gateways and gatekeepers in Enterprise
installations in accord with the recommendations of Cisco's Solution Reference Network Design (SRND) for IP
Telephony guides. Given a voice over IP design the implementer will select an appropriate deployment model correctly
configure the Gateways and Gatekeepers (whether distributed or centralized) implement call plans and decide how to
implement the most commonly offered Service Provider or managed services applications features or implementation requirements.
Audience
This course is important for Cisco's customers employees partners and resellers involved in large scale VoIP deployments across geographic boundaries. GWGK is
also critical for candidates seeking Cisco's CCVP certification.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe common service provider offerings such as wholesale voice and IP Centrex and describe how an IP-to-IP gateway supports these offerings.
- Implement gatekeepers and directory gatekeepers in an H.323 VoIP environment.
- Configure advanced voice gateway features.
- Implement a dial plan on a Cisco gateway by using dial plans number plans and COR applications.
- Identify the requirements for integrating a VoIP network with the PSTN and PBXs using voice gateways.
- Describe the function of gateways and gatekeepers in a VoIP environment that includes H.323 MGCP and SIP protocols.
