Exceptional File Recovery for FAT and NTFS File Systems
RecoverNT is the first true 32-bit file recovery available. RecoverNT
allows the recovery of valuable lost files on hard disk drives running the Windows95 or WindowsNT 4.0 operating system on IBM compatible, Intel based machines. For the first time a total solution is available
for all Microsoft file systems, allowing for fast, safe, and reliable file recovery with the ease of use of the Windows environment.
RecoverNT is compatible with all Windows 95/98 beta and WindowsNT 4.0/5.0 beta releases. RecoverNT
supports multi-boot, striped, spanned and mirrored drives as well as all versions of RAID.
The file recovery engine scans the physical disk drives, including removable media, and builds a virtual file system in memory. The recovery engine does not rely on the FAT of MFT to build
its file system. Recovered files and directories are displayed in a file manager type interface for easy recovery. A series of icons display the state of the file system with regards to a particular
file. For instance, if the FAT entry for a file is intact, RecoverNT will display the icon for useable FAT. Unlike any other utility available, RecoverNT allows the user to choose the method of
recovery that will yield the best results, or to try different methods until the desired results are obtained. Files, directories or the entire drive can then be saved to another drive, tape, network
drive or any other available storage media accessible as a drive letter.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Try to prevent any more files being written to the drive with the deleted file(s) on it. Data that is
overwritten is not retrievable. This also means that your want to install RecoverNT on another drive than the one with the deleted files! If need be, install RecoverNT
on a completely different system and copy the RecoverNT.exe and its help file to a floppy. Then run RecoverNT from that floppy on the system with deleted files. That way you are
sure not to overwrite any deleted files.
