RecoverNT 3.1
Console and Client Version 3.1 Remote File Recovery for FAT and NTFS File Systems
RecoverNT is the first true 32-bit file recovery application with LAN, WAN,
Intranet and Internet support. RecoverNT allows the recovery of valuable lost files on hard disk drives running the Windows95/98 or WindowsNT 4.0 operating system on
IBM compatible, Intel based machines. For the first time a total solution is available for all Microsoft file systems, allowing for fast, safe, and reliable remote file recovery with the ease of use of the Windows
environment.
The RecoverNT Console is compatible with Windows 95/98 and WindowsNT 4.0 using TCP/IP
and IPX/SPX for non-booting systems. RecoverNT supports multi-boot, striped, spanned and mirrored drives as well as all versions of RAID. The RecoverNT Client is compatible with
WindowsNT 3.X + as well as Windows 3.X+ for unmatched compatibility.
The Console is used by the Administrator to log into the system running the Client, whether
the system is in the next room or in Japan. Once logged in, the Administrator can scan and recover any files that have been destroyed by an accidental format, accidental deletion or other
unexplained reasons. The Console connects to the Client by its IP address, and once the proper password is entered, all of the drives in the system appear.
- Compatible with FAT12, 16, 32 and NTFS file systems.
- Compatible with SCSI, RAID, IDE and removable media.
- Rebuilds files with extensive file system damage due to virus attacks, power failure, user error or accidental deletion.
- Save recovered files to any mounted drive including network drives.
- Safety, nothing is written to the work drive.
- Undelete sub-directories and the files without undeleting the parent directory.
- Once installed on the system, you will never have to worry about losing another file.
The addition of Recsrvr.exe allows users with Internet access to scan and transfer recovered files from remote drives anywhere in the world. Systems Administrators can also access
drives and recover deleted files from machines on a LAN running TCP/IP.
The addition of Dossrvr.exe is RecoverNT's DOS network module. This module allows the System Administrator to access a non-booting system over a local area network. The system
is booted with a DOS diskette that contains the necessary files to start the system (Boot Disk) as well as the Network Card Drivers and an IPX/SPX driver. Once the system is booted
the System Administrator can connect to the machine using his Console. This is extremely helpful if single drive machines go down and there is a need to recover critical files from the
system over the network. The files can then be saved to a server or the Admin machine. The Dossrvr module supports Windows 3.X, Windows 95/98 and WindowsNT 3.51 and higher, all service packs and all languages.
RecoverNT is available in singe user versions as well as on a site license basis. This is the
last file recovery/undelete you will ever need. IMPORTANT NOTE: Try to prevent any more files being written to the drive with the deleted file(s) on it. Data that is overwritten is not retrievable.
This also means that you want to install RecoverNT on another drive than the one with the deleted files! If need be, install RecoverNT on a completely different system and copy the
RecoverNT.exe and its help file to a floppy. Then run RecoverNT from that floppy on the system with deleted files. That way you are sure not to overwrite any deleted files.
