Training Course

During this training course you will learn about the benefits of WSS 3.0, prepare your server environment, perform an install or upgrade and configure the Services 3.0 perimeter network infrastructure by implementing an ISA Server, configuring security accounts, increasing availability and configuring web site addressing. You will learn how to configure various different aspects of security, such as authentication, permission levels, user groups, and Information Rights Management (IRM) and how to administer Services 3.0, using a variety of web-based and command-line tools for creating, configuring, backing up and restoring sites.

Our training course covers the different ways to customize Microsoft SharePoint – using web parts to change the appearance of pages, master pages, and sites, and modifying the web.config file in order to customize code access security (CAS) and
the problems that may arise in a environment, how to avoid these problems, and how to monitor your servers and track usage and diagnostics, using various performance monitoring and logging tools, such as the Performance Console, Microsoft Operations Manager, the Central Administration, and the Event Viewer.

Prerequisites

A minimum of one-year of hands-on experience with Office SharePoint Technologies; proficiency in administering and configuring Internet Information Server (IIS), administering and configuring SQL Server 2000 or 2005 for Office SharePoint Technologies; a general understanding of Windows Server 2003 Active Directory administration, network infrastructure services, Internet Security, and Acceleration (ISA) Server, data back-up and restoration, network load balancing for applications, clustering, and ASP.NET 2.0 as it relates to Office SharePoint Services and technologies.
